Dana's project focuses on exploring changes in plant foodways and agricultural production that corresponded with the rise of the Moche state (A.D. 1-300).  She will be analyzing plant macro and micro remains from sites occupied by highland and coastal groups, respectively to understand the interconnection between group identity, migration, and state formation.
